The two institutions signed a Memorandum of Understanding to this effect here today. Prof. Shekhar Chaudhuri, director, IIM-C, and Rajendra S. Pawar, chairman, NIIT, signed the agreement.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Chaudhuri, said, ''The overwhelming demand for our Management Development Programmes has led us to seek technological solutions to reach out to larger numbers of aspirants. This initiative is in line with our vision of taking quality management education to different parts of the country, for the executives working in varied areas in Indian organisations. We hope to reach a large section of professionals, leveraging our content and NIIT's vast experience in delivery of technology-enabled education.''

According to Pawar, ''This marks another milestone in our long association with IIM Calcutta. With our special synchronous learning technology and learning management systems, we hope to recreate the campus experience at the centres we are setting up for these executive development programmes. Together with IIM-C's high-quality programmes and faculty, we expect to offer the best-in-class training for working professionals across the country, to give them an edge in their careers.''
