IIHT to offer IT learning on cloud

BANGALORE, INDIA: Indian Institute of Hardware Technology Limited (IIHT) on Friday announced that it has partnered with Microsoft to launch an e-learning program on the cloud, ‘Learning-as-a-Service’, using the IT major's virtualization technologies.

Unveiling the program, IIHT said in a press conference that it is available as a real time experiential learning-as-a-service and is accessible anywhere, anytime and on any device instantly on demand.

This service supports simultaneous learning of 20,000 individuals with decreased cost, available on subscription, pay only on use, and individually customizable for any IT learning environment.

IIHT is already in talks with various universities and schools to integrate their official curriculum with the e-learning program. “We have a strategy to partner with universities and schools where we are going to integrate their official curriculum with ours'. In fact, we have already tied up with universities such as Sikkim Manipal University, China University and Drexel University ,” Shivajee R. Sharma, vice president — IT, IIHT, told CIOL on the sidelines of the launch.

IIHT’s Cloud Computing program will cater to the growing demand of trained and certified Cloud computing experts to the IT Industry. It would train and certify 100,000 Cloud professionals globally including India in the next 3 Years.

Keshava Raju, MD and CEO, IIHT, said, “This course is a first of its kind that is exceptional and uniquely differentiated, trains people on Cloud Technologies using the Cloud and for the Cloud Industry.”

IIHT also launched a cloud computing program, IIHT Certified Cloud Expert, which will help IT professionals acquire the necessary skills to develop into cloud professionals by acquiring hands on expertise in virtualization, IT infrastructure management etc.

“This program will help engineering students acquire many skills and the student can come out as an architect by the time he completes the course. We believe that this program will help him mould his career faster,” Sharma said.

IIHT has already started to offer the course, “We have already started the certification program and have two batches running right now. The first batch will come out in November,” Sharma said.
