The new version of iGetit features a change in packaging, pricing and positioning and is uniquely powered by Google technology. More than 45,000 engineers in 24 countries are currently using iGetit.

iGetit is the web application created for the world’s 15 million design engineering professionals helping them to acquire, distribute, verify and certify Engineering Knowledge (best practices and design process methodology). It provides 100,000 hours of comprehensive PLM learning content while removing the barriers to knowledge transformation viz. price, hardware and installation.

Talking on the latest release, Kevin Noe, president, Tata Technologies iKS, said, "The iGetit web application will make it possible for every engineer to have access to relevant information and knowledge that will help them become better at design innovation and knowledge reuse – at a nominal cost.”

iGetit now features integrated search query powered by Google hardware and software. Elaborating on this, Noe said, “we are the first company in the world to offer the Google Search Appliance as a productivity tool for design engineering professionals. Now there is no limit to what engineers can search for and find."

Through extensive research, Tata Technologies iKS noted that engineers are increasingly going to the Internet to find solutions that help them do their jobs. They are looking for better ways to use design tools and they are searching for innovative ideas to help them with their design requirements.

David Fedler, vice president, Tata Technologies iKS, said, “Figures indicate that engineers increasingly are seeking answers from one another through various web technologies such as Instant Messaging, Forums and Blogs. As a result, the development objective of iGetit was to create a web application that offers a specialized social networking site for engineers.”

The latest release of iGetit integrates social features with learning mechanisms to help engineers connect to other engineers and enables the site to be their main source of information,” Fedler added.

The new iGetit will be showcased during IIT Bombay Techfest 2007, to be held from January 26th – January 28th 2007.

Price: Engineers can subscribe annually as an iGetit Engineer for free. For greater value, they can sign up for iGetit Professional for $25/-, or iGetit Team account for $95/-
