BANGALORE: iGate Global Solutions, the first integrated technology and operations company with a global services model, today inaugurated its new 65,000 sq ft development center at Jubilee Hills in Hyderabad.

This takes the combined size of iGate Global’s offshore infrastructure across Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai and Noida to over 300,000 sft. The company has also commenced a 200,000 sft expansion at its 14-acre campus in Bangalore.

The chief guest at this event was Dr Anji Reddy, founder and Chairman of Dr Reddy’s Laboratories. Speaking at the inauguration he said, "It is heartening to see more companies focusing on the creation of intellectual capital in India. We must move away from the labor arbitrage model in all industries be it information technology, pharma or biotechnology. iGate Global’s business model of controlling not just the people aspect, but also the process and technology is innovative and I am glad they have chosen to expand in Hyderabad, which I feel has a rich talent pool of intellectuals and thinkers."

Spread over 5 storeys the iGate Global Development Center can house over 500 software professionals and is in line with the company’s plans to ramp up its infrastructure over the next three years to the gold standard. The company currently employs over 200 people in Hyderabad.

Commenting on the expansion in Hyderabad, Phaneesh Murthy, CEO, iGate Global Solutions said, "We are committed to providing a gold-standard experience to all our stakeholders, and the new center in Hyderabad is a symbol of that. Over the past few months we have been working on consolidating and integrating the company, and putting in place uniform HR systems. As part of this we are also ramping up and standardizing our workspaces to a global standard."

Welcoming employees and their families to the inauguration, Mohan Sekhar, Chief Delivery Officer IT Services said, "The Hyderabad center is very important to us, servicing some of our largest clients. We have identified Hyderabad as a source of talent and hope to further benefit from this by adding 300 professionals at this center."

Clients serviced out of Hyderabad in the global services model include two of the world’s largest consumer goods companies.

The inauguration was attended by a large gathering of iGate employees and their families and members of the Board of iGate Global Solutions. The inauguration also saw performances by leading mimic and comedian Vikram Sathe from Mumbai and choreographers Raack and team from Chennai.
