"We wanted to give users more control over their archived data," says Raghu Kulkarni, CEO of IDrive. "IDrive Safe provides a secure cloud service, which keeps data protected offsite in our data centers. The various plan options allow users to decide how often they add data to their archives depending on their specific archival needs. The goal is to make sure data is securely backed up and stored regularly to keep archives up-to-date throughout the year for one flat fee."

IDrive Safe offers three different plans, helping to personalize the archival experience. Consumers and businesses alike can utilize the service to archive data that is accessed or updated infrequently.

Drives are shipped to users - frequency depending on the plan - data is then uploaded to the drive and sent back for archival. The consistency of shipments encourages routine backup practice, removing user irregularity and establishing confidence that data is always fully protected. Using physical drives also reduces upload time, as physical connections are faster and avoids Internet bandwidth issues.

Data is stored offsite in secure data centers and data can be made available online within 24 hours of a user's request. Users are also given the option to utilize private key encryption to enhance the security of their archives.

"There is a great advantage to having a drive shipped to you regularly. It saves time while making the archival process simple and more accommodating," add Kulkarni. "We've essentially created a convenient monthly cloud delivery service to encourage data protection while enhancing the user experience."
