ICICI Lombard intros insurance policy via mobile

MUMBAI, INDIA: ICICI Lombard General Insurance, the second largest company in the health insurance space (as per provisional and un-audited data from IRDA for the period April-December 2008), announced on Wednesday a new mobile commerce service enabling customers to buy or renew their insurance cover using their mobile phone, in an easy safe and secure way.

Customers can choose the product, pay the premium using a credit card and avail the insurance facility immediately, without the need for any paperwork, said a press release.

ICICI Lombard has introduced these mobile commerce services to enable customers to make secure transactions while on the move or while out of the country.

Using the mobile commerce services, customers can opt for policy renewals and purchases as well as claims processes. The 24X7 toll free number, 1800 209 8888, allows customers to manage their policies instantly wherever they are.

These mobile insurance services are available to consumers as well as insurance agents and sales officers working in the field. An agent/sales officer can download a software application on his phone and calculate

the premium on the spot, in turn providing prompt service to the customer.
