IBM Software Universe focuses on software solutions

MUMBAI, INDIA: The fourth edition of IBM Software Universe was held on November 11 and 12 this week at the Renaissance Convention Center, Powai in Mumbai.

The event is considered among the top business and IT meets in India. It was mainly hosted for the IBM's channel partners and clients along with the members of large IT community and professionals.

According to company, the event is a platform to unit the entire ecosystem and to strengthen IBM's leadership in the field of innovation using various technologies and software.

This year's edition was focused on show casing software solutions and case studies about businesses using company's solutions that have helped them to operate efficiently with tremendous growth.

During the event, IBM's top business heads including Pradeep Nair - director IBM Software Group, India & South Asia, Dr. Anil Menon - vice president Corporate Strategy IBM Growth Markets, IBM Worldwide, Dr. Ponani Gopalakrishnan - vice president IBM India Software Lab and Alan Ganek - chief technology officer (CTO) for Tivoli Software and vice president Autonomic Computing, IBM Worldwide remained present.

Also, Marc Woods, Para Olympic champion and television personality and Don Tapscott, world-renowned author of Growing Up Digital and co-author of Wikinomics addressed the audience and shared their thoughts.

While Pradeep Nair gave the welcome speech, Dr. Anil Menon shared his insights about IBM's strategy and how the company has moved in top level with innovation and technology. Also he spoke about the changes that have occurred in the IT field.

"Today the technology business model has completely got reverse to old models. Now, the focus of technology is consumers first and then it moves towards enterprises and small and medium companies," said Menon.
