IBM to manage global customer relations for D&B

SHORT HILLS, N.J: IBM has signed a seven-year, $180m (£98m) IT outsourcing deal with global business information provider, Dun & Bradstreet. Under the agreement, IBM expects to transform and manage key business functions and financial operations globally for D&B.

"IBM will manage customer relationships for D&B, more than 100,000 of them, leveraging new technologies such as real-time analytics, to transform the way customer needs are understood and responded to with greater efficiency and satisfaction," said a spokeswoman. "More importantly, this deal represents a new level of CRM work for IBM."

As a part of this initiative, D&B will outsource to IBM certain portions of its data acquisition and delivery, customer service and financial processes.

Working with IBM, D&B expects to improve its DunsRight quality process, bolster its customer service and reduce costs. IBM said in a statement it can help D&B achieve those goals by leveraging delivery scale, global process expertise and advanced technologies.

Under the contract, about 220 D&B employees will transfer to IBM.
