IBM launches security under 'packaged services'

today announced the launch of its packaged services offering in India.

"Packaged Services" is a first of its kind suite of offering primarily

targeted at small and medium businesses in India, who prefer "modular, easy

to choose and easy to implement" solutions.

Packaged services will be made available for clients across the country,

aimed at providing specific solutions to IT problems that directly impact their

business. The packaged services launched in India has an initial set of three

offerings — IBM eMail Security Services, IBM Security Assessment Service and

IBM Site Assessment Services — that will enable SMBs

to address issues like security, compliance and business operations enhancement.

IBM eMail

Security Services is designed to help organizations mitigate the risks

inherent in Internet eMail communications through a comprehensive suite of

services that scan and monitor eMails before it reaches the clients' network.

eMail can carry viruses, spam, pornographic material and other harmful content

that can seriously compromise business's ability to function — impacting

employee productivity and, at worst, putting the entire organization at risk.

The new solution provides four modular options that intercept and dispose eMails

containing viruses, spam, pornography and undesired content and offers better

protection and faster response to emerging threats than can be achieved in-house

— at a lower cost.

The Security Assessment Service is designed to conduct a security check of an

organization's IT infrastructure and assess its readiness against ISO 27001

standards. The service will enable appreciate the security posture of a company

by verifying the integrity confidentiality and availability of the

organisation's IT infrastructure. Recommendations from the assessment aim to

mitigate risks by providing inputs to close the security gaps in the IT

Infrastructure.

IBM Site Assessment Services can help assess the present infrastructure and
