BANGALORE: IBM India Ltd. and Tata Consultancy Services (TCS)
have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), under which IBM and TCS will
support the marketing of Tivoli's products, solutions and services in India. The
MoU was signed by IBM India Ltd. managing director and chief executive officer
Ranjit Limaye and TCS chief executive officer S. Ramadorai.
IBM India will support TCS's efforts to offer Tivoli-based
products, solutions and services, by providing TCS with requisite training on
the Tivoli technology platform and working closely with TCS in customer accounts
where both TCS and Tivoli would together bring in value. As per a company press
release, TCS will architect, implement, support and consult for the Tivoli
Management Environment, and other Tivoli products like Tivoli Service Desk,
Global Enterprise Manager, Tivoli Manager for SAP and Tivoli Cross Site for
e-business frameworks and environment, which is the only offering of its kind in
its category. TCS will also get its products like ISBS, a total branch
automation software application, and EX, an accounting package, 'Tivoli Ready'
to enable them to operate in the Tivoli environment. IBM and TCS believe this
initiative will help Indian customers get access to the latest cross-platform
technology management solutions from Tivoli.
Tivoli modules have been installed at TCS's Excellence
Centers in Chennai and Pune. TCS will work on these modules to develop core
expertise on the Tivoli framework technology and train its engineers. TCS also
plans to use these facilities for Proof of Concept and customer demonstrations.
The press release claims, Tivoli Systems provides the industry's leading open,
highly scaleable and cross-platform technology management solutions that span
networks, systems, applications and business-to-business e-commerce.
