IBM India Software Labs unveils new partner cloud

BANGALORE, INDIA: IBM announced on Thursday the launch of a new 'Partner Cloud' at the IBM India Software Labs, Pune.

This new offering will provide select partners access to IBM's scalable, secure cloud offering and deep technical expertise from the lab in the best of breed IBM Cloud technologies, it said in a statement. Built on the Dynamic Infrastructure capability at the IBM India Software Lab, this cloud manages several hundreds of virtual machines today in production.

“Today, cloud computing has matured to a point where it's considered a mainstream technology service. The growing acceptance and popularity of cloud computing globally has opened up a new dimension in developing and delivering IT infrastructure and software,” said Shashi B Mal, director — cloud computing — IBM India/South Asia.

He said that through consultation, technology deployment and development sessions, the IBM Partner Cloud will help IBM business partners in taking the cloud adoption in this region to further heights.

As the cloud model evolves, partners and Systems Integrators find themselves in new roles as Cloud resellers, Cloud operators, Cloud application providers etc, claimed IBM. By leveraging the IBM partner cloud, they can get instant access to IBM software and application lifecycle management capabilities in a secure and scalable cloud delivery model.

Maninder Singh, Founder Director, Infrasoft Technologiessaid, “We have been working with IBM teams for the last 10 years. Going forward, I see a big potential for cloud based offering, especially for SME core banking sector. With our core expertise and market strength in CBS, we look forward to great success working on this with IBM.”

IBM said the facility will help partners understand the credibility of cloud technologies and implementation and also the ROI that can be achieved through this platform
