IBM India launches IntelliStation with enhanced graphics

BANGALORE: IBM India has announced the launch of new models of its E Pro, MJ Pro and Z Pro IntelliStation workstations with new 2D and 3D capable Matrox Millennium G400 graphic cards.



At the launch IBM India country marketing manager Alok Ohrie said, "With these new graphic technologies, we will be able to provide customers in India with an enhanced solution for their applications, giving IBM IntelliStation the unique ability to offer industry-leading performance, fine-tuned to meet whatever application the customer is running."



The Matrox Millennium G400 card is a 256-bit graphics engine with accelerated graphics port (AGP) support. It has a 16 MB SGRAM, multi-monitor support with additional PCI Matrox cards and 304 MHZ RAMDAC, video input/output and second analog/digital monitor output upgrades available.



According to the company press release, IBM IntelliStation E Pro, M Pro and Z Pro, feature Intel's Pentium III and Pentium III Xeon microprocessors at 550 MHz speed and utilize Intel's 440BX chipset. It can be configured with a choice of 7200 or 10000-rpm disk drives ranging in capacity from 6.8 to 18.2 GB. The IntelliStations are being used for computer-aided design, game development, solid modeling, 3D animation, engineering analysis, web authoring, design simulation and video editing.
