According to the company the Smart Cloud Entry enables organizations to deploy self-service provisioning of virtualized workloads, allowing them to start the transition to a cloud-based infrastructure.
It uses a 'simple' interface, and is designed to help both entry-level firms and sophisticated clients adopt private clouds from scratch or transform current virtualized systems into cloud infrastructures.
"This enables rapid scalability by allowing additional servers or blades to be added to the cloud infrastructure. It also includes basic workload metering to support a "pay-per-use" business model," he added.
The IBM Smart Cloud Entry is part of its SmartCloud Foundation portfolio.
