Thriveni, which specializes in break-through mining explorations, will implement enterprise SAP ERP for improving process efficiency and ensuring greater business insights.

IBM will be the systems integrator for the entire deployment and will also provide application management support (AMS) for the next 5 years. The ERP system will run on IBM’s Systems X server and storage.

As part of the deal, IBM will help Thriveni integrate its entire operation onto a single IT platform encompassing different business units, including finance, purchasing, planning and budgeting, plant and project operations, and human resource.

The new system will also ensure regulatory process compliance — related to environment, health, and safety — involved in mining operations through better controls and check points.

“Since its inception two decades ago, Thriveni has grown significantly and the legacy system was not equipped to support our aggressive business goals. We needed to streamline and integrate our diverse systems for more efficient business operations and faster decision making,” said Abhay Kumar Kulkarni, GM (IT) of Thriveni. “IBM has the required business and technical expertise to help create a robust system for Thriveni.”
