NEW YORK: International Business Machines Corp. on Monday said it has developed new chips for quickly transmitting data over wireless networks.
The chips use a portion of the radio spectrum that can carry more data at faster speeds, IBM said.
That could make them useful for sending high-definition video from a DVD player to a television or downloading digital photos through a wireless connection, the company said.
Several electronics companies are considering whether to use the chips in their products, but the company did not name them.
