IBM appoints Network Solutions as storage products partner

BANGALORE: IBM India has announced the appointment of Network Solutions Ltd.

as its Business Partner (System Integrators) for IBM's complete range of storage

products. As part of this partnership Network Solutions would adopt IBM's Total

Storage strategy, which gives a holistic approach of delivering technology,

support, consulting, services and education throughout the entire storage

networking solution life cycle. This relationship would focus on delivering

comprehensive storage solutions to customers across the country.

Under the agreement, Network Solutions would appoint a separate business unit

head with a dedicated team of approximately 25 certified storage professionals

who would drive the IBM storage business across the country. IBM would support

Network Solutions through regular sales and technical training on its products

ranging from disks, tapes, Network Attached Storage (NAS), Fiber channel,

storage Attached Networks (SAN), Internet protocol (IP) based iSCSI appliances

and gateways.

Welcoming the partnership, Network Solutions director, Srinivas Rao said,

"The Indian market is poised to go in for storage solutions in a big way

over the next few years. With this partnership, Network Solutions will be poised

to enter and address the market, leveraging its position as one of the country's

top network integrators. Without doubt, IBM's storage solutions are the best

available today, and it will add further to Network Solutions' range of services

and its reputation as a world-class solution provider."

Network Solutions would offer storage solutions to banks, financial

institutions, research organizations, IT enabled services and software EOU's. He

added, "Our approach would be to complement our core solutions to offer

complete network lifecycle services."
