I-T raid on Nokia's Chennai unit: Reports

BANGALORE, INDIA: Nokia manufacturing plant and the mobile handset manufacturer's offices in Chennai are apparently under tax scanner.

Early on Tuesday, some reports suggested that officials from the Income Tax department raided the plant premises at Sriperumbudur on the outskirts and its offices in the city.

At this point, the amount allegedly evaded by Nokia India is pegged at Rs. 3,000 crore. It is expected to be a 5-6 hour raid.
