“We realize that it is a tough time for IT growth especially for the small and mid-sized companies. We will take a number of initiatives with this in mind,” said Narasimha Rao, president, HYSEA and vice president for the Hyderabad center of Infosys.

Rao heads the recently-selected managing committee of HYSEA. Extension of the STPI regulation, allotting of government projects to SME IT companies and looking for sub-contracting portion of work from larger companies to small companies are some of the areas that the association will work towards, said Rao.

While these initiatives need discussion with members business development and mentoring for mid sized IT companies is definitely a priority, he said.

Initiatives with academia and industry to develop HR and have interactive forums both technical and informal will also be undertaken by HYSEA.

The association conducted a workshop for aspiring product developers and software product showcase in the Infosys campus on Friday.
