Speaking on the 'Borrow Talktime' offer, Sanjoy Mukerji, Operations Director, Hutch, Delhi said, "Having taken the lead by introducing value for money offers for our prepaid subscribers, the natural next step after these is 'Borrow Talktime', which allows our subscribers to help their family and friends when they need it.”

To transfer talktime to a Hutch prepaid number, send "bal (space) your Hutch number (space) amount to be transferred" as an SMS to 144.

No service charge is incurred by the subscriber who does the balance transfer. Daily transfers can range from a minimum of Rs 50 to a maximum of any amount. A transfer charge of Rs 5 will be levied on all the transactions by the Hutch prepaid number transferring the talktime.
