NEW DELHI: Hutch has introduced international roaming on prepay that would
allow Hutch prepay customers to receive incoming calls and SMS while roaming in
more than 100 countries across the world.
Hutch prepay customers would be charged an activation fee of Rs 40 per
activation of this service, that includes both international and national
roaming. To activate this service, customers would have to dial into an
Interactive Voice Response System (IVR) number 400 from their Hutch phones and
within four hours, this service would be activated.
Once roaming is activated, all outgoing calls and SMS would get barred and
customers would be able to receive only incoming calls and SMS.
The prepay international roamer would be charged a flat airtime rate of Rs 60
per minute for a 60 second pulse except while roaming in Argentina, Brazil,
Mexico, Peru and Philippines where the customer would be charged a flat rate of
Rs 160 per minute. These rates are inclusive of airtime, toll, and surcharge
component. Incoming SMS is free. However, the customer would not be able to
check his validity and balance while roaming.
