Speaking on the occasion, Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer said, “Indian has a growing mobile user base. We have great technology in search and mobile search is a very important part of it. We expect mobile to drive more searches than the PC. Also e-commerce and advertising will also be further stimulated with mobile search.”

Hutchison Essar MD Asim Ghosh said, “Future of India is on mobile as its penetration is growing at a rapid pace. I feel that the first penetration of Internet will also come from the mobile phone soon and this is set to transform our society. As the Internet is setting us free as a society, from a connectivity point of view it is the mobile that would set us free.”
