BANGALORE: Eicon Networks Corporation and Hughes Tele.com have announced a
partnership to offer ADSL Services in India. Hughes Tele.com, an Indian private
basic telephony services operator, has selected Eicon Networks to provide the
Diva ADSL USB Modem for deployment with their ADSL lines.
Hughes Tele.com is rapidly expanding its network in India and currently
provides communication services through over 110,000 lines connected to business
and residential customers in 10 cities in Maharashtra and Goa.
"The Diva ADSL USB Modem worked well in our lab tests. Choosing the
Eicon Networks product was easy because the features, product support, and
technology were all there to enhance the end-user experience", stated
Hughes Tele.com chief technology officer Dhananjay Saheba. He
continued, "High speed exchange of data on Hughes' secure, fiber optic
based network has the potential to drastically increase Internet usage in the
region."
This deal with Hughes Tele.com is the first ADSL contract for Eicon Networks
in India, continuing the company's worldwide success with its DSL products.
Telcos across Europe and Asia are choosing to go with Eicon's Internet Access
products.
