MUMBAI: India's Hughes Software Systems on Monday said it reported a net
profit of Rs 92.8 million in the quarter ended June 30, 2000, compared with Rs
40.8 million in the year ago period. The firm's total income in the first
quarter rose to Rs 383.5 million from Rs 206.9 million a year ago, it said in a
statement.
The total income includes other income of Rs 25.5 million in the first
quarter this year against Rs 9.8 million last year.
"The revenue mix for the company for the first quarter comprises of 40
per cent from services for Hughes Network Systems, 34 per cent from services to
other clients and 26 per cent from products," the statement said.
Shares of Hughes Software ended Rs 126.65 down at Rs 2,601.35 on the Bombay
Stock Exchange on Monday. The benchmark 30-share Bombay index ended down 6.17
per cent at 4,188.34.
