Hughes Q2 net up 51%

NEW DELHI: Hughes Software Systems Ltd. second quarter profit has surged 51 percent over the previous year in the middle of a rush by its clients to send work offshore.

Hughes, 55-percent-owned by Singapore-based Flextronics, said its July-September consolidated profit rose to Rs 25.6 crore from Rs 17 crore in the same quarter last year.

Net sales rose 39 percent to Rs 118 crore.

Hughes said it expected its third quarter net profit and sales to grow by between five and six percent on a quarterly basis.
