Huawei showcases 3G tech at Convergence India

NEW DELHI: Telecom equipment supplier Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd has showcased its UMTS, HSDPA, CDMA networks, NGN and 3G Wireless terminals at the Convergence India 2006 International Exhibition and Conference at the Pragati Maidan Exhibition grounds in New Delhi from March 21-23.

On display are Huawei's 3G products and solutions including, 3G: UMTS, HSDPA, IMS, CDMA EV-DO, IPTV, NGN, Intelligent Optical Network, and 3G and CDMA Handsets and Terminals.

Huawei has flagged off an “India 3G Road show” with the inauguration of its 3G Container caravan, which would also be on display at the exhibition grounds.

The 3G Product container caravan would then travel to Mumbai for conducting 3G technical workshops and briefing sessions for the Indian telecom industry there.

This year's event would also be the first time Huawei would be showcasing six new CDMA mobile handsets in India, which is one of the key “strategic markets of focus” on Huawei's global CDMA technology rollout roadmap.

Mark Wang, the chairman, Huawei Telecommunications India Co., Pvt. Ltd. says, “Entering its 14th year, the Convergence India Exhibition has become a definitive platform for emerging convergent technologies for new generation networks.

“Huawei is very proud to be a part of the Convergence India International exhibition as it provided yet another window of opportunity for us to introduce our global portfolio of innovative products and services to IT & Telco business in India.”

“This event will also be one of Huawei's milestones in strengthening and consolidating our presence in India,” he adds.
