Huawei and Microsoft demonstrated their latest cooperative achievements in the data center field to guests and media present at the conference. Huawei CE full-series data center switches passed Microsoft Windows Server 2012 R2 certification, with Huawei's network operating system, Open Programmability System (OPS), succeeding in connecting to the Microsoft System Center 2012 R2 Virtual Machine Manager OMI Plugin, enriching Huawei's Software-Defined Networking (SDN) solution and enhancing Huawei's relationship with Microsoft in the data center network field.

Huawei, together with Microsoft, will be providing their global customers with cloud computing data center solutions that feature powerful automation and programmability.

The rapid development of cloud computing and big data drives the increasing demand for cloud computing data center construction across the globe. It is predicted that the access rate of mainstream servers will increase from 10GE to 100GE, with the cluster scale increasing by tenfold, and the access rate and switching capacity of data center switches also increasing significantly over the next 10 years. Huawei and Microsoft will also carry out in-depth, effective co-operation in managing and maintaining super large computing data centers efficiently.

OMI is Microsoft's open source implementation of CIM and WS-Management standards from the Distributed Management Task Force (DMTF), designed to be the enablement for the Datacenter Abstraction Layer (DAL).

CE series data center switches are high-performance switches put forth by Huawei for cloud computing data centers and high-end campuses, which include Huawei's flagship products CE12800 series core switches and CE6800/CE5800 series high-performance TOR switches (10GE/GE access switches). OPS is built on Huawei's proprietary Versatile Routing Platform version 8 (VRPv8) and othe pens network service functionalities to service developers, connecting networks to user services.

After passing Microsoft Windows Server 2012 R2 certification for OMI based switches, Huawei CE series switches will be widely deployed in cloud computing data centers, which can directly manage Huawei CE series switches, for highly efficient and automated data center management. Additionally, through the use of the industry-leading CE series switches, Windows Server-based cloud computing data centers will become more elastic and scalable, support full-scale virtualization, provide high reliability, and ensure a non-stop service experience.
