Huawei launches Wi-Fi dongle in India

BANGALORE, INDIA: Telecom networking equipment maker Huawei has launched Wi-Fi data card, E355, in the country.

Victor Shanxin, president, Huawei Device India, said, “To empower millions of Indian SMEs and large families, Huawei is launching world’s first Wi-Fi dongle, Huawei E355 allowing users to connect five users at the same time, with its personal Wi-Fi zone."

The new Huawei E355 Wi-Fi modem, priced at Rs.3290, functions both as a data card for a single user and as a mobile Wi-Fi hotspot, which can simultaneously connect up to five Wi-Fi-enabled devices, says a release.

The Huawei E355 Wi-Fi modem comes with a USB interface and can be powered using various USB chargers.

The modem offers HSPA+ 21 Mbps DL and 5.76Mbps UL speed. Equipped with Type3i technology, the device provides up to 20 per cent more upload and download speed compared to non Type3i devices, adds the release.
