Huawei launches first mobile phone for North America

SAN DIEGO, CA: Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd., a provider of next generation telecommunications network solutions for operators around the world, announced the immediate availability of the Huawei M318 for North American market through MetroPCS Communications Inc..

This sleek and feature-rich clamshell handset marks the first available Huawei mobile phone for the North American market and the first in a family of devices that Huawei will make available to North American customers.

The Huawei M318 features a unique and sleek design specifically designed for MetroPCS and their customers. The Huawei M318's features include text messaging, speaker phone, a vibrant 1.5-inch 65K TFT color display, WAP 2.0 for quick and easy web browsing; BREW for simple and fast downloads; and high quality 72-chord ringtones.

The Huawei M318 measures 3.54 x 1.77 x 0.7in (90x45x18mm) and weighs just 3.2oz (92g). It comes equipped with 5MB of onboard memory. Talk time is 3.5 hours with a standby time of 192 hours (8 days) and will be available immediately in select MetroPCS markets.
