Huawei unveils Ascend Mate phablet in India at Rs. 24,900

As a part of global launch, Huawei has today unveiled Ascend Mate 6.1 inch HD display phablet in the Indian market. Priced at Rs 24,900, the new device runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, and is powered with a 1.5GHz Hi-Silicon quad-core processor and 4050 mAh battery.

Huawei has incorporated many new and innovative features in order to bring competitive lead to its customers. The Huawei Ascend Mate phablet has 6.1-inch screen with 73 per cent screen proposition and 500 hours zero crash, the company said. It has incorporated OGS technology and dual WiFi (2.4GHz + 5GHz).

Huawei Devices India president and CEO Victor Shanxin said that they have shipped 200 million devices worldwide in 2012. "The Huawei Ascend Mate breaks all barricades to deliver supercharged entertainment, communication and creative experience for all personal and professional needs," said Shanxin.

It has 8 MP AF rear camera with HDR and 1.0 MP HD front camera. Ascend Mate also boasts to have Augmented Reality navigation app. With global roaming functionality, the new device features supports five frequency bands that could attract international travelers.

Huawei is expanding its consumer business including devices portfolio in India. It is also constructing new R&D center in India with $150 million investment. The company is also partnering with Flipkart and has retail distribution through Redington.

The company is aiming to sell overall 1 million devices in the Indian market during the current fiscal, and said that they would continue to launch consumer products in the India' robust market.
