The new smartphone has a 4.3 inches LCD display that pours out visuals in WVGA resolution. It has only a rear camera of 5MP resolution accompanied by an LED flash and auto focus.

Mobietor reports that there's a 1GHz dual core processor powering up the phone's various functions and 1GB of RAM helps with the task. The report goes on to say that it is not sure if the 4GB of internal memory which has been mentioned among the specs, will be supplemented by an embedded microSD card slot for expansions purposes. Other key features cover an 1800mAh battery, Wi-Fi 802.11, GPS with GLONASS, Bluetooth 4.0 and so on.

The HTC Desire L is being sold for NT$10,900, which works to around $366. For those who prefer to go with the customer agreement deal instead of coughing up a lump sum, the tag attached to the hardware climbs down to NT$2,990 (roughly $100), and there's a NT$897 (approximately $30) per month plan too.

Taiwan News says it goes by the nickname ‘Butterfly mini' and also reports that the manufacturer's North Asia-Pacific region president, Jack Tong, presented the handset as the company's latest bet in the mid-range market. It made its debut at the concerned carrier's concept store in Taipei, Ximending.

The launch comes very soon after the mid-tier First Facebook smartphone was made available in the US and let's not forget the One SU that's tailored for China either. Starting with the exterior, the device is sprayed in three color choices of pink, black and silvery white. It squeezes into a 128mm x 66.9mm x 8.9mm chassis and weighs in at 118g.

Still there's no word on whether the HTC Desire L will be made available internationally.
