The company chose an apt time to showcase the range as the China Print 2009 opens on Tuesday at the Chinese capital.

“These products have already been launched, but they are now being rolled out it in the Asia-Pacific region. The shipment has already begun. The market in this region has a huge growth potential and is a focus area for us,” said VS Harihar, VP of Graphics Solutions Business, HP Imaging & Printing Group.

“This is a great opportunity for us to introduce this collection at the China Print event, as this is a very popular international printing trade fair.”

Some of the key graphic digital solutions that the printing solution provider will display at the seventh international printing exhibition include the HP indigo WS6000 Digital Press, which is being offered first time in the Asia-Pacific and Japan, and Indigo 7000 Digital Press and HP C6180.

However, of these, the HP C6180 is only meant for the Chinese market as it has been designed to enable compliance with the product identification, authentication and tracking system (PIATS). Bullish about the digital printing business even in the times of slowdown, the company is confident that these products will do good business in the region.

“Digital printing is recession proof. We have seen 47 per cent Y-o-Y growth in this area during the last quarter and India is a high-growth area. Market research estimates that the digital printing market would grow at 27 per cent CAGR in 2007-2012," senior company officials at Indigo Digital Press division said.
