HPISO to sponsor Linux Bangalore, 2001

NEW DELHI: Hewlett-Packard India Software Operation Ltd. (HPISO) has

announced its sponsorship of Linux Bangalore 2001, a three-day National

Conference aimed at Linux developer community. This event would be held from

December 10-12, 2001 at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore.

This is India's first stand-alone National-level Linux event which aims to

cover a large number of areas including core Linux technologies, open source,

embedded systems and other allied technologies. The conference targets the Linux

developer community, systems administrators, users, newcomers and other

decision-makers.

More than 2,000 participants will be present at the conference. Some of the

key speakers being Subramanya Mudigere, VP R&D, and Geetha Manjunath,

Technical Consultant, HPISO; Atul Chitnis, CTO, Exocore Consulting Pvt. Ltd.

Kishore Bhargava, CEO, Link Axis Technologies; Prof. Gurunandan Bhat, Former HoD,

Dept. of Computer Science, Goa University; Dr. Tarique Sani, CTO, SaniSoft;

Sameer Metrani, Group Head, Embedded Software, Encore Software Pvt. Ltd. among

others.

The three-day Conference will include introductory, technical, how-to and

tutorial sessions. New technologies and their implementation/application under

Linux will be discussed. This event aims at providing assistance to new users

and more information to technology enthusiasts. To encourage the participation

of the student community, the future drivers of Linux movement, the conference

will be open to all, with no entry fee.
