BANGALORE: Hewlett Packard (HP) has announced that it would set up a worldwide e-speak support centre and a mobile e-services bazaar (MEB) in Bangalore. According to a company statement, the e-speak centre to be set up at HP’s India So ftware Operation (ISO) facility in the city will offer end-to-end, online and free support services to developers around the world working on applications based on the e-speak architecture.

HP had announced last year its e-speak architecture that helps create e-services on the Internet. It has also made open the source code of e-speak. The Bangalore MEB, to be ready by July, will be the third set up by HP and it will promote the development of e-speak and WAP solutions for the global market and will provide incubation facilities for startup companies with mobile solutions.

HP worldwide general manager e-services and chief architect of e-speak Rajiv Gupta inaugurated the centre. He said that his target was to achieve revenues of $500 million from e-services for HP this year. "Of this, w have already received guarantees worth $300 million," he added. The ISO Centre will also be the extended laboratory for e-speak resdearch and core technology development and solutions delivery for e-services. HP expects to penetrate the Indian Internet market through its new initiatives.
