HP C3000 BladeSystem - HP BladeSystem c3000 enclosure for smaller technology sites, branch offices and remote locations. Implementation of the c3000 requires no special power, cooling or staff, easing midsize customers' ability to gain the benefits of a fully bladed environment. The HP BladeSystem c3000 reduces the time and cost it takes to deploy new business applications, enabling lean IT teams to deliver big business outcomes. Savings can then be redirected to other initiatives to fund future growth. Customers realize:
- Power and cooling savings of up to 30 percent
- Storage-area networking (SAN) connection costs reduced up to 60 percent
- Cabling reduced by up to 94 percent, which lowers costs and complexity; and
- Breakeven costs at three to five server blades
For the first time, customers with space and IT staffing constraints can take advantage of the business benefits that a bladed infrastructure delivers. The rack-based c3000 features a compact 10.5-inch-high design that fits up to eight blades, plugs into a standard 110 or 220-volt wall outlet and provides easy-to-connect networking. The tower version of the c3000, expected to be available in November 2008, is outfitted with the same features and will require only two square feet of floor space.
The c3000 has full compatibility with the existing line of HP BladeSystem c-Class servers and network connectivity options. It also supports the HP ProLiant, Integrity and StorageWorks server and storage blades.
HP StorageWorks All-in-One Storage (AiO) Systems
The HP StorageWorks All-in-One Storage Systems (AiOs) are an unbelievably simple standards-based family of storage products that combine affordable, integrated network attached storage (NAS), storage area network (SAN) and data protection functions under a single management umbrella.
Designed specifically for small and mid-size businesses (SMBs), the HP AiOs are the industry’s first easy-to-use, multi-function storage offerings that enable SMB customers to store, share, manage and protect rapidly growing pools of application and file data.
Reducing complexity with integrated functionality: The intuitive HP All-in-One Storage Manager displays Using the HP AiO, customers with little or no storage experience can become experts in application and file data management, automating storage management tasks such as logical unit number provisioning, volume and capacity management, and setting up RAID stripe sets and snapshots.
storage use and data protection in an application-centric framework that hides the complexities traditionally associated with storage. In fewer than 10 clicks, customers can fully set up shared storage for Exchange and begin actively serving files, expanding data areas, implementing disk and tape backup policies and creating end-user file shares.
Data protection is another core aspect of the HP AiO, and administrators can implement flexible data protection policies for different data stores. Snapshots provide fast and easy backup and restore enabling roll-back in the case of problems. HP has integrated a full version of HP StorageWorks Data Protector Express Software into the HP AiO Storage Manager to enable data backup and recovery from tape, virtual tape, optical or external disk on the network.
Easy to deploy, manage and scale: The HP AiO uses the iSCSI interface and can be installed on existing TCP/IP networks, while standard hardware and drive enclosures ensure easy support for future growth. Shared storage for growing application servers enables efficient use of capacity and allows end-users to maximize investments in additional capacity while allowing for shorter backup windows.
The HP AiO runs Microsoft Windows® Storage Server 2003 R2, which is a dedicated and optimized file and print server that provides customers with improved manageability, enhanced end-user productivity and capabilities to meet the needs of branch offices and SMBs. Additionally, the HP AiO includes “best practice” recommendations to automate tasks, speed up deployment and improve application performance via data migration tools for Microsoft Exchange Server and SQL Server 2005.
Designed specifically for small and mid-size businesses (SMBs), the HP AIOs are the industry's first easy-to-use, multi-function storage offerings that enable SMB customers to store, share, manage and protect rapidly growing pools of application and file data.

New integrity blade ideal for businesses with large data center workloads
HP has expanded its BladeSystem portfolio with an Integrity blade 'BL870c' designed to handle memory-intensive data center workloads while helping businesses lower cost, save energy and space, and decrease deployment time. Named 'HP Integrity BL870c', it is designed and developed to address more application workload demands. With HP BladeSystem c3000 and c7000 enclosures, this integrity blade server is the first four-socket server blade that combines the modular infrastructure and energy efficiency of HP BladeSystem with the business-critical capabilities. The addition of the BL870c to the HP BladeSystem family will allow businesses to deploy and manage Integrity or ProLiant servers in a single blade enclosure with a set of common management tools.
"With the introduction, of the BL870c, we can now address the broadest spectrum of workloads with a blade infrastructure in the industry," says Santanu Ghose, Country Manager, Business Critical Systems, Hewlett-Packard India. "This server combines the benefit of blades around cost, time and energy with the proven scalability & availability of Integrity systems. Our commitment to innovation is unmatched and we'll continue our 'blade everything' strategy where it helps customers align their technology with the needs of their business".
