BANGALORE: Hewlett-Packard and Intira Corporation, the provider of netsourcing has announced that Intira has selected the HP SureStore E enterprise storage solution for Intira's newest E-Class data center in New York City, a data center that will provide infrastructure outsourcing and remote data storage via the Internet.

HP has developed an integrated portfolio of storage hardware and software designed to provide a storage utility similar to an electrical utility. This "storage on demand" architecture adds to Intira's around-the-clock availability, nearly infinite scalability and ubiquitous accessibility that customers are demanding from service providers they entrust with the storage and management of business-critical applications and data, claims a company press release.

"As we were creating our e-services blueprint, we knew that storage would be one of the fundamental building blocks upon whichc all e-services would be built," said HP Enterprise Storage Business Unit vice president Marilyn Edling. The selection of HP as Intira's primary storage supplier marks a significant step in the relationship between the two companies, says a release. It also extends the companies' mutual efforts to assist each other in netsourcing business development and service provisioning.
