HP promises cloud service agility with new open hyperscale server line

BANGALORE, INDIA: To address the needs of hyperscale IT architecture, HP today announced a new family of compute portfolio, which will increase the cloud service agility of the service providers. The new compute portfolio includes servers, networking and Service Provider Ready solutions to help service providers create differentiated services faster.

As majority of organizations will start relyting on the shared cloud offerings in service provider data centers over the next few years, service providers require the scale and flexibility to launch differentiated services faster in the market to meet the growing demands of businesses. Additionally, they need to invest and operate in such an IT infrastructure that is cost-effective, and suited to web-scale architectures.

The new HP Cloudline server, which is a result of the HP-Foxconn joint venture, is a portfolio of basic, cost-focused and customizable compute platforms that offer capacity on demand, flexible operations and low costs.

Built on open-design principles, HP Cloudline servers support open management tools and leverage common industry interfaces in hardware and firmware. This supports delivery, deployment and management at an extreme scale and fits easily into multi-vendor environments.

These servers supplement the recently announced open network switches by HP, which are designed to provide service providers and web scale organizations more flexibility and control in tuning their networking infrastructure to meet the specific business requirements.

HP provides flexible business models for “pay-as-you-grow” financing and tailored support and services to help service providers scale quickly and pay only for the capacity used.

HP Cloudline servers can be supported with HP Technology  and Financial Services, technical and operational services, security services, etc.

Select models of HP Cloudline rack servers will be available from March 30, 2015 onwards.
