HP names new VP of strategy and planning

NEW DELHI, INDIA: HP today announced that Suparno Banerjee has been named vice president of strategy and planning for HP Enterprise Business, Asia Pacific and Japan, effective immediately.

In this newly created role, Banerjee will head strategy, planning, coordination and growth initiatives across all Asia Pacific markets, with a strong focus on cloud computing, services and software solutions, said a press release.

Banerjee will report to Piau Phang Foo, senior vice president and managing director for HP Asia Pacific and Japan.

Banerjee was most recently vice president of HP’s global government industry group. During his 5-year tenure, he developed and implemented a wide range of strategies including outsourcing, infrastructure integration, systems integration and portal development, to drive growth and efficiencies within global government agencies.

Banerjee brings to this role 25 years of experience managing IT services in government and commercial sectors across the world. Prior to joining HP, Suparno was a director with Deloitte Consulting’s Federal Practice. Prior to this, he was the government industry leader for IBM, Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA), where he worked on initiatives with United Nations agencies and various governments in the region.

“Suparno has built a reputation as an experienced business leader with a proven track record of driving innovation and customer growth,” said Foo. “Suparno’s broad experience will be instrumental in driving our business forward and in strengthening strategic partnerships with our clients.”

Banerjee holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and a master’s in business administration from the Indian Institute of Management.
