Specs: New Intel Extended Memory 64 Technology (EM64T), Intel E7525 chipset, 925X Express chipset, Xeon processors, Pentium 4 processors with Hyper-Threading technology, 16GB of RAM (when 2GB DIMMS are available) and 1.5TB of internal storage

Feature: The workstations are developed to meet the demanding technology needs of industries such as mechanical computer-aided design (MCAD), computer-aided engineering (CAE), digital content creation (DCC), financial services and geographic information systems (GIS).

The new dual-processor HP Workstations xw6200 and xw8200 utilize the new Intel Extended Memory 64 Technology (EM64T). EM64T expands addressable memory space by up to 256 terabytes (TB), aiding in the design and manipulation of large data sets or models. Both workstations use the new Intel E7525 chipset and next-generation Intel Xeon processors. By adding up to 16GB of RAM (when 2GB DIMMS are available) and 1.5TB of internal storage, the HP Workstation xw8200 can be scaled up.

The HP Workstation xw4200 features Intel's new high-performance 925X Express chipset and the latest Intel Pentium 4 processors with Hyper-Threading technology at speeds up to 3.6 GHz with an 800 MHz front side bus. It will also have Intel Extended Memory 64 Technology (EM64T) support when made available by Intel.

The HP Workstation xw6200 is designed with the capability to easily analyze massive amounts of real-time data and execute fast transactions while providing the capability of viewing up to eight monitors simultaneously.

HP workstations are equipped with an x16 (by-sixteen) PCI-Express (PCIe) graphics port providing up to four times the bandwidth available with today's AGP 8x graphics connection. The company claims that both dual-processor workstations offer a 50 percent faster system bus and DDR-2 400 ECC registered memory for greater performance and lower power requirements, along with an added level of data integrity and system uptime.

Offered through HP's broad network of channel partners, the new HP Workstations xw4200, xw6200 and xw8200 are available from July 2004.
