HP launches unified BYOD networking solution

BANGALORE, INDIA: HP announced new unified wired and wireless solutions that deliver network support for bring-your-own-device (BYOD) initiatives.

The new solutions and services, introduced at the HP Global Partner Conference, delivers unified wired and wireless management and switching platforms that create a single network for wired and wireless connectivity, says a release.

The offerings also enable partners to leverage the HP FlexNetwork architecture to support their clients' BYOD essentials with new device on-boarding and provisioning functionalities through a single management application and automated security with software-defined networks (SDN) technology, while being supported by mobility connectivity services, it adds.

"Organizations are struggling to deploy BYOD solutions within a complex, legacy infrastructure that spans two separate networks and management applications," said Prakash Krishnamoorthy, country manager, HP Networking, HP India. "HP's complete unified BYOD solution is the first to solve this issue and-combined with HP's comprehensive training, programs and services-will create new, profitable opportunities for partners."

New HP BYOD solutions support up to 1,000 wireless devices with HP 830 Unified/WLAN Switch.

With HP Wi-Fi Clear Connect software offered on HP's WLAN products users can automatically eliminate network downtime. The BYOD solutions help deploy management through integrated BYOD functionality in HP Intelligent Management Center (IMC) Smart Connect.

The new HP BYOD solutions enable clients to increase network performance, and speeden up data transfer with the new OpenFlow-enabled HP 2920 switch series, while, improve network availability with the HP 10500/7500 unified wired-WLAN module, the release adds.

The new BYOD solutions enable real-time threat detection with a new Sentinel Security SDN application, and provide security with HP IMC User Access Manager.

HP 830 Unified/WLAN switch, IMC User Access Manager, 10500/7500 unified wired-WLAN module and Wi-Fi Clear Connect via MSM 6.0 will be available worldwide in May. IMC Smart Connect and 2920 switch series will be available worldwide this month.
