The compact HP Bladesystem c3000 enclosure is designed for smaller technology sites, branch offices, and remote locations. No special power, cooling or manpower is required for the implementation which eases midsize customers ability to reap the benefits of a fully bladed environment. With key features like power and cooling savings of up to 30 percent, reduction in storage area network connection cost by up to 60 percent, and cabling reduction by almost 94 percent, HPs new solution promises to change the way data centers work.

"Whether a size of 99 or 999, for midsize businesses, pain points remain similar when it comes to managing data centers. We are looking at a holistic approach to address these points," says James Mouton, senior VP and GM, Industry Standards Servers, HP.

Indicating the need for such a solution was HPs latest research that brought to light the fact that two-third of mid-size businesses want customized technology solutions, created just for them.

"The c3000 is a deploy anywhere, do anything infrastructure that is easy to manage and made to accelerate growth," says Rajesh Dhar, country manager, Industry Standards Servers, HP India. The new suite of solutions caters to the expectations for customization by midsize and growing businesses.

The compact c3000 is rack-based with a 10.5 inch long design that fits up to eight blades, plugs into a standard 110 or 220-volt wall outlet and provides easy-to-connect networking. Further enhancing the efficiency of data centers and addressing the issue of space crunch would be the tower version of the c3000, which will require only two square feet of the total floor space in any data center

"We are in the midst of a change, a transition. IT has been used extensively, but largely confined itself to the maintaining and operating a business. Now, we will see IT being used for tangible business outcome mainly by driving growth, reducing cost and reducing risks. IT will not be just one of the components, it will deliver like a factory," says Durgadutt Nedungadi, director, Marketing and Alliances Technology Solutions Group, HP India on the need for such tailor-made solutions.
