HP intros ProLiant Gen8 servers for cloud

BANGALORE, INDIA: HP unveiled two new ProLiant Generation 8 (Gen8) four-socket servers, DL560 and BL660c, that can facilitate customers’ move to cloud. It is the company's first servers to incorporate ProActive Insight Architecture.

The ProLiant BL660c Gen8 server offers four-socket density in half the size of the previous generation, says a release. The DL560 server provides a space-minimizing four-socket server in a 2U form factor.

The new servers come integrated with PCIe 3.0 storage technology, and VM support.

The ProLiant DL560 Gen8 and ProLiant BL660c Gen8 are available worldwide for starting prices of $5,912 and $7,970, respectively.
