HP displays Designjet printer at GISD seminars

NEW DELHI, INDIA: Hewlett Packard, a provider of imaging and printing solutions, on Wednesday announced that it has participated in the Geographic Information System Development (GISD) seminar series focussed on generating awareness on the latest geospatial technologies.

The program provides a great platform for various geospatial solutions to be showcased to users. The seminar series is being conducted across 10 Indian cities starting from 19 September 2011 to 18 October 2011, said a press release.

The GISD seminars have already been conducted in eight cities — Guwahati, Kolkata, Gandhinagar, Chandigarh, Patna, Chennai, Trivandrum, Mumbai — and is yet to be concluded in Bhopal and Jaipur. Attendees get comprehensive updates on various aspects of technology developments in the field of geospatial, touching upon latest trends and its integration with mainstream information technology and solutions.

HP-IPG is showcasing its Designjet large format printer portfolio during the seminar, which plays a vital role in the presentation of geospatial data through various researches.

HP claims that its Designjet T 2300 allows geospatial professionals to scan sketches and hand-annotated drawings, create print-ready files, share them via an e-mail link to their HP ePrint and share library, lets them work on multiple projects at the same time with two rolls and smart switching.

Each seminar was attended by more than 200 senior officials and decision makers from the state government and private sector agencies, who are potential or current users for the geospatial technologies for eGovernance implementation, Municipalities, Land Records Modernization, Disaster Management, DSS/DSM.
