HP builds on MPS with a new offering

BANGALORE, INDIA: HP is increasing its Imaging & Printing group (IPG) portfolio with host of launches that focus in Managed Printer Services (MPS). The company inaugurated a full-fledged HP Imaging and Printing Enterprise Solutions Experience Centre in Bangalore along with announcement of new printers and solutions.

This would be the fourth centre globally, similar to centres located in, Singapore, Hong Kong and Taiwan.

The new launches include HP ePrint Enterprise product solution, HP Management of Change consulting practice and two new printers (HP LaserJet Enterprise M4555 MFP series and HP Officejet Pro 8000 Enterprise). The company claims that the new offerings would help in improving workflow, managing environment and optimizing infrastructure.

HP ePrint Enterprise provides a secure cloud mobile printing platform that works from any HP webOS device, Blackberry, iPhone and Android devices to any networked enterprise printer.

With the help of an enterprise application users can print within their enterprise network via an HP Managed Print Services engagement, and also print at thousands of HP ePrint mobile print locations worldwide.

Pierre Mirlesse, vice president, managed enterprise solutions, Imaging & Printing Group, Hewlett-Packard Asia Pacific, said, “India is a very critical market, It is among the top six growth markets for us. Over the past few years we have seen the customers priority moving from improving business process to increasing growth, and customer retention than reducing cost There is a huge opportunity of managed services. So our strategy is to improve workflow, manage environment (which includes consulting feature) and optimizing infrastructure.”

According to the company, MPS are increasingly being recognized as a strategic business tool to manage IT costs and to improve workflow efficiency.

“Over the last one year, managed enterprise printing has seen immense growth as CIOs have realized the benefits of MPS in cost savings and optimized workflows. Going forward, we expect a larger number of enterprises to adopt this model to maximum value from their IT investments,” said Nitin Hiranandani, director, Managed Enterprise Services, HP IPG.
