HP to bring Noddy show to India

NEW DELHI, INDIA: HP Pavilion will soon bring the world-renowned kid’s show, the Noddy show, for the first time to India. As part of this special Noddy desktops are also being launched.

Announcing the mega event at a press conference in Delhi, HP Pavilion said that the show titled ‘Noddy and the Treasure Map Adventure’ would soon be performed live across key cities in India.

The show will be organised in partnership with Just Because It’s Children (JBC) and Millennium Entertainment International (MEI) during August and September in major Indian cities like Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore and Kolkata.

This 60-minute musical adventure show, featuring Enid Blyton’s famous cartoon character Noddy, will be a one-of-its-kind education-meets-entertainment show with loads of interactivity for the audience, said the organisers. British children’s author Enid Blyton had created the endearing little wooden boy Noddy in 1949.

The play will have various theatrical devices, world-class lights, sounds, special effects and stunts that will create a larger-than-life fantasyland for the audience, said the organisers.

As part of this show, HP Pavilion has also introduced special customised Noddy Pavilion desktops adorning Noddy skins.

Shubhodip Pal, head of consumer marketing, personal systems group, HP India, said, “In alignment with our lifestyle computing strategy to provide education in an entertaining way to the children, which is also traditionally the reason most people buy PCs, we are bringing this unique show to India that combines moral values and fun.”

He also said HP Pavilion would cover over a hundred thousand children through its school contact programme during the same period.

“As the market leader in the Indian PC space, we have continuously worked towards positioning our HP Pavilion range to create relevant offerings appealing to the dynamic market,” Pal added.

According to Nick Larkin, founder of MEI, “Our shows are aimed to give quality entertainment to the families. Through this four-city tour to India, we wish to reach the Indian audience and bring a smile to everyone’s faces.”

“Our mission is to present wholesome family entertainment with world-class standards. Noddy as a character has been around for 59 years now... We are sure that the audiences will go back with an experience that is truly enjoyable and at the same time spreads the values of life among young generation,” said Kavita Bedi, JBC managing director.

“The show primarily targets children in the age group of 2-10 years and their parents. After Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore and Kolkata, we are planning to showcase it in Chennai, Jaipur, Chandigarh, Ahmedabad and Hyderabad. The tickets for the shows have been priced at Rs 500, Rs 750, Rs 1000 and Rs 1,500,” she further added.

The show has eight characters on stage, including Noddy’s friends like Big Ears, Bumpy Dog, Sly, Gobbo and Tessie Bear.

The show will be staged in Delhi from August 29-31; in Bangalore from September 5-7; and in Kolkata on September 14.
