HP announces new strategy for storage solutions

CHENNAI: Hewlett-Packard India Private Limited has unveiled new network storage strategy for its network storage solution (NSS) for Southern India following the HP-Compaq merger. This includes consolidation of its channel partner network in the region, which includes both resellers for focused engagement with customers and wholesalers for better distribution.



HP (India), Marketing Manager, Network Storage Solutions, Avijit Basu said that nothing has been dropped post-merger, as had been apprehended by the channel partners. HP has added new portfolio into its storage solutions, which include SAN Disk Array VA7410 range of NAS solutions, EVA and XP disk arrays which increase storage efficiency and optimize storage performance, availability and scalability. HP is organizing ‘Quick-Start’ programs for their channels to familiarize them with the new portfolio of solutions.



This would also include training workshops for channel members. Detailing on their new vision for storage solution called Enterprise Network Storage Architecture (ENSA), Basu said that HP ENSA unites the force of HP and Compaq to help customers optimize their IT resources with greater efficiency, flexibility and continuity by delivering the right information to the right person, anytime, anywhere. This storage architecture is aimed to help customers achieve their business goals, streamline operations, accelerate time to market and leverage the full power of information.



In Asia-Pacific, HP has stood as the number one in disk storage system, external storage system, tape drive, storage area network and virtualization technology. Basu stated that Storage Solution got the highest CAGR in spite of the recession.
