NEW DELHI: HP has announced its Simply StorageWorks initiative- a series of new investments, programs and solutions that will help SMBs effectively address their increasing data storage

requirements.

India's SMBs account more than 60 per cent of the country's annual IT spend. Increasingly, they are finding their data storage needs becoming more

demanding. HP has identified database and e-mail storage, file and print services and back up and recovery as the key drivers of the SMB storage market in India.

HP has realigned its SMB storage strategy to address these concerns by launching a series of new investments, programs and solutions that will

simplify storage consolidation, file services and back-up and recovery with affordable, easy-to-implement and scalable options-key for SMBs with limited budgets and IT resources.

"The SMB market in India is the backbone of our economy. They are increasingly facing the same pressures as larger enterprises when it comes to

the exponential growth of data," said Avijit Basu, Country Manager, StorageWorks Division, Hewlett Packard India Sales Pvt. Ltd. "However,

budgets and IT resources and perceived complexity of storage technologies are key challenges for SMBs. HP's Simply StorageWorks initiative is a response to this-an initiative that will simplify storage and provide SMBs with storage options based on ease of use and affordability."

New Programs:

Programs being rolled-out include:

· My First SAN: Aims to simplify consolidation. The My First SAN kits have been introduced based on the HP StorageWorks MSA 1000 array and start as low as Rs. 465000.

· Easy-As-NAS: Under this program the HP ProLiant Storage Server portfolio has been expanded to include entry-level models. Additionally, the i-SCSI feature pack has been introduced-- thereby enabling SAN-like capabilities on NAS for a fraction of the cost.

· Ultimate Business Protection Program: The Ultimate Business Protection program currently has an exchange & gain promotion where

customers can get an exchange value for their old, used, working or non-working tape-drives when they purchase a new HP tape drive. Additionally, several new tape drive bundles are being introduced with ProLiant Storage Servers.
