MUMBAI, INDIA: The Shiv Nadar University (SNU), an international, multi-disciplinary research-focused university was scouting virtualization solutions to improve performance and ease its operations.

It selected NetApp’s FAS storage solution which optimized memory and I/O bandwidth for better performance while providing network connectivity and capacity scaling needed to meet growing and changing data storage requirements.

AS a result SNU has realized 30-40 percent savings by optimizing the solution across platforms, improved 80 percent more performance, 100 percent more capacity and non-disruptive operations, thereby easing administration and cost efficiencies.

Rajesh Dawar, Head, IT, SNU, said, “With scale, the university witnessed 15 percent YoY surge in its data growth due to existing workloads and 25 percent annual growth with new initiatives leading to substantial increase in our storage needs. The new solution not only strengthens our existing IT backbone but has also helped build a robust technology environment in line with our vision to create a world class research-focused university and our commitment to create a seamless and efficient technology infrastructure for our faculty and students.”
