BANGALORE, INDIA: Well, if you ask me how many months in a calender year, like any kindergarten kid, even I would have answered as twelve months.

But in an interesting report, which I came across today reveals, Google's latest operating system (OS) Jelly Bean has just 11 months in its calendar, when it is upgraded to Android 4.2 from 4.1.

Yes, the latest updated version of Android believes a calendar has only eleven months in a year.

What if you want to add your dearest family/friend's anniversary or birthday date? Simple, the people /contacts app that's embedded in the OS doesn't support.

Highlighting the latest bug from the search engine giant Google, Androidpolice reports, "File this one under How did Google not have a test for this? Got a birthday or anniversary in December? Sorry - Android 4.2 doesn't know what December is."

"We couldn't believe it either, but it's true. Google forgot to include December. As in, there are 11 months in a year. January after November. Christmas is ruined. Santa is dead. At least we'll save money on buying presents, right?" the report added.

When media reports started highlighting the issue and the same report was notified to Android bug tracker, the search engine giant acknowledged, it is looking into the problem.

It may be noted that Google recently started rolling out the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean update to the older Nexus devices.

While we still wait for an official announcement from Google on the reported problem, I am sure the users of Android 4.2 weren't prepared for this pre-Christmas surprise.
