Honeywell, HAL celebrate 25 yrs of commitment

BANGALORE, INDIA: Honeywell and Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd. (HAL), today announced that they are celebrating 25 years of aerospace collaboration, including production and support of the TPE331-5 turbopop engine.

“The relationship between Honeywell and HAL began in 1984 when Honeywell first licensed production of TPE331 engines,” said Rob Wilson, president, Honeywell Business and General Aviation.

He added that their partner HAL has built more than 225 TPE331 engines for the Indian Military services, including the national Coast Guard, Navy and Air Force. They provide full maintenance and service on the aircraft engines at their facilities in Bangalore.

As announced in 2008, HAL also supplies Honeywell with TPE331-121 JR engine parts to meet global demand. It reinforces recognition of HAL's capabilities in making them a global manufacturing resources for Honeywell.

“We are proud of our long partnership with Honeywell in manufacturing and maintenance of world class, high technology aircraft products and engines for the past 25 years,” said Ashok Nayak, HAL chairman.

He added that with exciting times ahead for both the companies, we now look forward to the future, expanding our relationship to achieve greater heights and growth.
