The HomeGrid Forum is showcasing G.hn technology to potential technology adopters in Asian markets, as HomeGrid prepares for rapid deployment throughout the region. HomeGrid Forum supporters are out in force demonstrating the best in G.hn at the event, including system vendors AcBel, Arcadyan, CHIMEI, Comtrend, SAMPO, TATUNG, TTI and ZyXEL, and chipset vendors Marvell, Metanoia and Sigma Designs.

Asian service providers are showing increasing interest as the technology reaches maturity, following the system certification milestone passed last month by Taiwanese company, Comtrend. Among the Asian operators currently trialing G.hn is Taiwan's own Chunghwa Telecom.

Dr. Hsien-Tang Ko, director general of the Industry Development Augmentation Division of the Taiwanese Institute for Information Industry and a key supporter of G.hn, sums up the potential of the technology: "G.hn is designed to be the in-home backbone for networking gateways and IP set-top boxes together for IPTV multi-room digital video recorder services, Wi-Fi access points, and home automation devices. G.hn technology can help service providers to realize the advent of the digital smart home, undoubtedly fulfilling their vision of digital convergence services anywhere in the home."

G.hn provides home networking over any existing wires in the home with excellent quality of service. It creates a high performance network backbone throughout the home, enabling seamless, high definition IPTV and multi-media distribution.

"The HomeGrid Forum continues to meet our commitments. Our first system certification in September marked an important moment for our Asian G.hn efforts," said HomeGrid Forum president, John Egan.

"We have the technology, it is certified, multi-sourced and the best on the market. Now, with systems certifications starting, we can showcase a strong and wide range of products available to service providers and consumers. We have HomeGrid Forum certified systems. The full eco-system of multi-source G.hn is poised for deployment today and, with our full Ultra-HD IPTV streaming over G.hn, we're showing it's now ready for tomorrow. Service providers, retailers and consumers can trust in HomeGrid Forum "Certified" G.hn products to provide satisfaction and performance."

The Broadband Taiwan Event will take place from the 8th to the 11th of October 2013, in the TWTC Nangang Exhibition Hall in Taipei, Taiwan. HomeGrid Forum will be exhibiting at booth No. 513.
